Crop tops

Britney Spears in a Crop top
The latest fad in clothes that is back in town, and that has all the young girls excited and old ladies nostalgic is the return of crop tops. Crop tops made an entry with a bang in the 1980s but that time they were viewed as more of a rebel statement than a style statement, later on they became a regular clothing accessory in fitness. In 1990s, celebrities like Britney Spears brought crop tops in fashion by wearing them in their music videos.
Crop tops are tops or shirts that come up to the midriff. In the start, crop tops were fashioned by cutting off the hem of a losing fitting t-shirt or a shirt. Later on they were worn in their tighter forms, usually with a print on the front. Today crop tops are an essential in a girl’s wardrobe and are worn in all forms and types.
Crop tops are of various types and they are all very pretty, very fashionable, and very alluring. The types of crop tops are loose fitted crop tops, off shoulder crop tops, and many more. They come just below your rib cage, so that they reveal your bare midriff. They are a good accessory to show off your toned stomach and your abs. Even though they are not restricted to a particular body type, girls who have a toned stomach usually wear crop tops; even heavyset girls can wear loose fitted crop tops over a body hugging t-shirt or without anything beneath. Crop tops are a good wear for summer on the beach, if you don’t want to wear something as revealing as a bikini. They are also a good wear for casual outings with friends during the day or while shopping.

Crop tops, basically, can be worn with any type of pants and even skirts. They go with shorts, jeans, trousers, and cropped pants. They are also a good team up with skirts of all types. For those who do not want to reveal their midriff, can team up crop tops with high waist jeans. Even though crop tops are considered to be a casual wear, they can be teamed up with a blazer and worn on a good fitting pair of trousers for a semi- formal look. When worn along with a long, flowing skirt they give a ‘boho’ look, that is very much in style now a days. Loose fitted crop tops on a pair of shorts are a good wear on a beach or for a summer outing. Crop tops can also be worn for parties when teamed up with a short A-line skirt or a pencil skirt.
Today, a variety of crop tops are available in the market, with varieties of prints on them. There are plain ones and then there are printed ones. Printed ones include tribal prints, floral prints, striped prints, grid prints, and lots of others. Plain crop tops with a word or a witty quote sprawled across front are also in fashion now a day.
Currently, crop tops are also considered a fashion for men, and lot of celebrities like Kid Cudi and the stars of the band One Direction are embracing it. Even though not yet followed by a lot of regular men, it might become a trend in the near future due to its comfort and awesome look on the body of the individual wearing it.

Introduction

How many girls are out there who love fashion? Buying new clothes, new pair of shoes... oh those black pair of stilettos, that new lip shade, a tote and many more. We want to create our own style statement, try all the colours and literally shop till we drop!
I am a girl just like all of you out there and I am a "Shopaholic" or should I say a "Fashionaholic"?
I love the smell of new clothes, the touch of fabric against my skin, the colours of the cloth in the sunlight, the feel of the new pair of sandals.
So here I am writing all things about clothes, sandals, shoes, bags and make up on this little blog of mine called "Something old, something new".
The fashion is ever changing today, sometimes the loose fitting pants are in and the next day they are just drab, scarves are one day considered to be elegant and the next day they are just too hippie, one minute the red lipstick is too bold and next minute it is the colour of the modern woman and so on and so forth. In these ever changing times of fashion, it is hard to keep up with these ever changing trends.
